Björk has released a new single, Náttúra, featuring Thom Yorke, Brian Chippendale, Matthew Herbert, and Mark Bell. The track was written and produced by Björk exclusively for the campaign, which aims at collating and providing sustainable and eco-friendly options suitable for Iceland, and generating alternative ways to utilize it's natural reources.
According to Björk, "It is now more important than ever before to emphasize a respect for nature... I believe that profits, technological advances and working together with nature can all go hand in hand. None need to be sacrificed at the expense of the others."
The single is available here. All proceeds go towards the Náttúra campaign.
After three critically acclaimed solo albums over the last decade, Jesse Malin’s latest album releases to the US following the UK release earlier this year now with four additional tracks including "Leaving This Babylon" (The Bad Brains), "It's Not Enough" (Johnny Thunders), "Lady From Baltimore" (Tim Hardin) and "Fairytale of New York" (The Pogues).
A labor of love, “On Your Sleeve” bears it’s title as plainly as Jesse Malin bears his heart on this album. Reminding anyone who came of age in the punk era of those long hours spent ear to the speaker or gazing, belly-up at the ceiling in headphones, Malin offers up to rockers an album of indie favorites, paying respects to a prolific generation of punk progenitors and veteran composers. The release features interpretations of classic singer-songwriters like Neil Young, Paul Simon and Elton John, along with contemporary greats like The Hold Steady, Bad Brains and Lou Reed.
After stints in the 1980s and `90s with hardcore bands and the popular NY punk rock band D Generation, Jesse Malin ventured solo into the 2000's with a series of genre-bending albums that found an urban toughness in roots-rock. "On Your Sleeve breaks the clever, clever mold by tackling chiefly solid-gold classics, and comes out on top." - Mojo Magazine
"On Your Sleeve" is the blossoming of an idea that started as a joke with his fans while performing the occasional cover on tour. The song choices arose out of "all those songs that hit me at certain points in my life and never stopped."
One Little Indian was founded in 1985 by members of the punk band Flux of Pink Indians. Throughout its 20+ years in the industry, the major aim of the label has remained simple: to give its artists complete creative control.
In 2003, the label branched to North America planting the flag at a new office in New York City. One Little Indian US was born, and the label immediately began to release dozens of titles from its new catalog across the pond, introducing a fresh arsenal of North American talents. Now residing in San Francisco, CA, One Little Indian US has added eclectic projects like the Icelandic DVD Magazine Rafskinna to its roster of talent.
